NEVELDINE/TAYLOR

MARK NEVELDINE was born in Watertown, NY and majored in Drama/Psychology at Hobart College where he was a lettered athlete and a Dean’s List student. He began his career as an award-winning actor and Off-Broadway writer/director in over 25 plays in NYC, and then moved behind the camera as Director of Photography on documentaries, music videos and a television pilot. His narrative DP work includes This Beautiful Life starring Ned Beatty.

BRIAN TAYLOR was born in the Valley and spent two meaningless years at UCLA before hitting the road as a touring punk guitarist, singer, journalist and composer, finally arriving at film. He served as Director of Photography on a variety of award-winning shorts and independent features. His work as Director and Cinematographer on The Man Who Loved Elevators (a short based on the work of Charles Bukowski) established BT as an HD pioneer and highlighted Cinequest’s DigitalxDigital showcase. He recently appeared as a bad actor in the 2008 Clive Barker horror film Midnight Meat Train.

The two joined forces on The Keys – aka No Dirham, No Disco (a surreal action/adventure) filmed in Morocco, where they invented one of their many camera techniques, roller-dolly.  Early 2002 found Mark and Brian in the Dominican Republic shooting a documentary about the Fuentes Cigar Family.  Upon returning to the States the directing team was snatched up by @radical.media for commercials and music videos. Their commercial work includes  award-winning spots for Nike, Motorola, Bud Light, Powerade, KFC, Michelob and Honda.

MARK and BRIAN hit the feature scene hard in 2006 when they wrote, directed and camera-operated CRANK, starring Jason Statham, Amy Smart, Dwight Yoakam & Efren Ramirez.  In 2007 they wrote and produced the cult thriller PATHOLOGY, starring Milo Ventimiglia.  In 2008 NT wrote, produced, shot and posted two features - CRANK 2: HIGH VOLTAGE, which threw Statham and Smart into the mix with David Carradine, Clifton Collins, Corey Haim and Ginger Spice - and the sci-fi/action GAMER, starring 300’s Gerard Butler along with Logan Lerman, Amber Valletta, Kyra Sedgewick, John Leguizamo, Alison Lohman, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, and Michael C. Hall.  Both movies hit the multiplexes in Summer 2009. The team has written projects in development at 20th Century Fox, Mandalay, and Warner Brothers - most recently scripting JONAH HEX, starring Josh Brolin, Megan Fox & John Malkovich, which will drop in June of 2010.
